EPC project for soil remediation and control in the southern extension area of ​​Hanjiang Road (including the Liuxin land plot)

The project site, located south of the intersection of Hanjiang South Road and Chunjiang Road in Guazhou Town, Hanjiang District, Yangzhou City, covers a total area of ​​approximately 64,608 square meters. Remediation is being carried out using a combination of remediation and risk management techniques. Exceeding standards for local soil pollutants include arsenic, lead, cadmium, mercury, benzo[a]pyrene, benzo[a]anthracene, benzo[b]fluoranthene, indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene, dibenzo[a,h]anthracene, petroleum hydrocarbons (C10-C40), and 1,4-dichlorobenzene. Contaminated soil within the surface layer (0.5 m) and 2 m below the roadway was excavated. Heavy metal-contaminated soil was physically eluted and then sent to a cement kiln for co-treatment. Complex contaminated soil was directly transported to the cement kiln for co-treatment. Approximately 32,036.5 m³ of contaminated soil was eluted, while approximately 17,980.7 m³ of contaminated soil was co-treated in the cement kiln. In-situ isolation of the underlying soil and groundwater was achieved using both vertical and horizontal barriers. The vertical barrier has a perimeter of approximately 1,098 m (depth 11 to 17.08 m), and the horizontal barrier covers an area of ​​approximately 64,608 m². The contract duration of the project is 120 days. The project passed completion acceptance on October 26, 2023, and the project passed expert review of the effectiveness evaluation on November 14, 2024.
