Guangzhou Shipyard Phase III Land Soil Pollution Remediation Project

The Guangzhou Shipyard Phase III site is located within the Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. plot at No. 40, Fangcun Avenue South, Liwan District, Guangzhou (the "Guangzhou Shipyard Site"). The total volume of soil requiring remediation (or disposal) is approximately 100,463 m³, covering a total remediation area of ​​40,738 m², with a remediation depth of 0-8 m. Soil contaminants requiring remediation include lead, arsenic, copper, zinc, nickel, fluoride, petroleum hydrocarbons (C10-C40), benzo(a)anthracene, benzo(b)fluoranthene, benzo(a)pyrene, and dibenzo(a,h)anthracene. Treatment will be carried out using cement kiln co-processing technology, ex situ thermal desorption, ex situ leaching, ex situ chemical oxidation, horizontal barrier, and vertical barrier technologies. The contract duration for the project is 240 days. The project is expected to pass expert review of the effectiveness evaluation in September 2022 and will be removed from the list of construction land soil pollution risk control and remediation in January 2023. The restoration construction process of this project involves the cross-construction of multiple restoration technologies, as well as deep foundation pit excavation, support, dewatering and other processes. Multiple professional projects are cross-constructed, the site has a large contaminated area and a large amount of contaminated earthwork, but the area of ​​uncontaminated area available for storage is small, and earthwork turnover is difficult. This is a key difficulty for on-site construction organization, resource allocation, and process arrangement.
